Heroes of Ikros
Name: Prince GaradaineRace: Human Age: 28 Height: 6'1" Rank: Prince of Ikros and General of the Ikros Legion Choice Weapon: Sword of the Tempest and Mystic Zweihander Background: Garadaine grew up in a relatively peaceful life, spending his days exploring the vast reaches of his homeland with his sister Kiana. However, when he was thirteen, he and his entourage were attacked by a band of orcs. The knights defending the prince and princess were all slain, and Kiana was captured.
Garadaine had been hiding in the nearby bushes and was
unharmed, but chose to follow the orcs in order to try to free his sister.
Unfortunately, in an attempt to free her, Garadaine was spotted,
and out of spite and cruelty, the leader of the orcish squad tossed Kiana
into a deep ravine, allowing the horrified prince to watch. The orcs
then attacked Garadaine, leaving him for dead. It has been said that
was the day the current Prince Garadaine was born. Since that day,
Garadaine has worked to become a better fighter, and has risen the ranks
through the Ikrosian forces until he earned the right to command them.Character: To his close friends, he is actually quite kind and sociable, to the rest of the world, Garadaine is a cold, unrelenting individual. However, Ikros loves their prince, as he has defended the realm for many years and has won many battles. Garadaine believes in the idea that actions speak louder than words, and believes that people will show their true colors when times are roughest. Though he does not have quite the respect for laws that his father does, Garadaine does uphold the idea that everyone has the right to their own form of happiness. The Prince of Ikros is a very skilled and powerful fighter, though he never sought out the powers of the Dragoons and Paladins as his father did. Garadaine's fighting technique involves two swords, using the two handed sword in his right hand for blocking until he tires of using the sword in his left. When he does, Garadaine usually throws his one handed sword at or lodges it into his opponent, and proceeds to fight with the two handed sword. Garadaine has also begun instruction from Greylen, learning a few useful spells and incantations to aide him on his way. |

Name: GartgnarRace: Dwarf Age: 189 Height: 4'3" Rank: Member of the Order of the Steel Fist of Kolam T'Or Choice Weapon: Battle Axe and enchanted Arquebus Background: Ever since King Garalt and his party's brave display at Castle Arrandrall, the dwarven kingdoms have spent much more time and energy in the great kingdom of Ikros. Prince Garadaine met Gartgnar in the abandoned caves of Mihrin 'Gnaught while on a quest to quell a small nest of Goblins that had been causing trouble for the local silver mines. Gartgnar was so impressed with Prince Garadaine's abilities and leadership, though at that time the Prince had only risen to command a small band of knights, that the dwarf joined the Prince on his task. After the Prince saved his life, the proud Gartgnar pledged his loyalty to Ikros and Prince Garadaine from that moment onward. Character: Gartgnar has yet to meet a pint he didn't like. In fact, he claims he fights better after drinking for an hour or so. Gartgnar is a furious and powerful melee fighter, using his battle axe to crush foes twice his size. When discretion calls, he may also employ his enchanted Arquebus, a form of primitive rifle. The projectiles his weapon fires are ordinary, but are imbued with random magical properties when the weapon is discharged. Because of it's uncanny ability to randomly imbue bullets to suit the current situation, Gartgnar has become convinced that his weapon has a mind of it's own, and has taken to calling it 'Claude', and regularly carries on one sided conversations with it. Gartgnar is as loyal as he is short, and though he does not often get along with Cassrien, or 'that female elf' as he sometimes refers to her, he would just as readily defend her as anyone else in the party. |

Name: CassrienRace: Elf Age: 173 Height: 5'11" Rank: Sister of the Sapphire Dawn Choice Weapon: Bow of Vengence Background: Cassrien met Prince Garadaine while he was commanding a small band of warriors through the northern plains of Ikros, through what was once Zol. She had been on a reconnaissance mission, just as the Prince, though for separate purposes. Prince Garadaine was searching for any more signs of the Council's minions, under orders from a very paranoid King Garalt. Cassrien was sent by the Council of Elders of the Sapphire Dawn to survey the new and growing power that was Ikros. However, during her journey, Cassrien was attacked by a rampaging throng of giant spiders, and was rescued by the Prince. She left the Prince to journey farther into Ikros, and upon returning to the Elders and telling her tale, Cassrien was assigned to watch over the Prince for reasons unknown to her. Character: Though Cassrien journeys with Prince Garadaine under orders, she has befriended the human, and has actually grown quite fond of him. Like most elves Cassrien is long lived, and though she is young for an elf, her many years of experience have kept Prince Garadaine and his party out of much trouble. She also wields magical abilities, such animal summoning and the ability to sense evil close by. Cassrien usually fights with her magical bow, able to fire burning or freezing arrows at blinding speeds. In hand to hand combat, her fighting style is sophisticated and beautiful elvish martial art that is both fast and efficient. However, she prefers to not to resort to violence, calling such actions more befitting a dwarf, which usually causes Gartgnar to resort to violence. |

Name: TrenialRace: Human Age: 31 Height: 5'10" Rank: Lieutenant Paladin of the Order of Huldrain Choice Weapon: Paladin Sword Background: Trenial spent the majority of his childhood under the new Patriarch of the Order of Huldrain, Garn. His life before journeying with Prince Garadaine was spent in deep study and meditation. This lead to a serious lack of outside influences in the paladin's life, and so Garn asked King Garalt if Trenial could join Prince Garadaine to broaden his horizons. Ever since, life has been one discovery after another for Trenial, and though it has lead to some very aggravating situations for the rest of the party, his skills have more than made up for his lack of experience. Character: Trenial is a very innocent and pure individual. His study and devotion to his paladin religion have created a warrior free of selfish desires and wants. He is, in fact, almost child like in his ideological views upon the world, which is particularly aggravating to Rillik. Nevertheless, Trenial is a powerful fighter, and can hold his own very easily against most any single foe. His paladin abilities are also quite acute, and have proven to be invaluable on many occasions. |

Name: RillikRace: Human Age: 27 Height: 5'9" Rank: Corsair Choice Weapon: Sword of the Flame Background: Rillik spent most of his youth on the open sea. The ship on which he worked, named "The Osprey," had a very infamous reputation. Though for many years it could not be proven, the trading vessel "Osprey" had been accused on many occasions for being a pirate's vessel. Several years after raising to the rank of Captain aboard the ship, Rillik commanded a raid against a royal Ikrosian vessel. Unfortunately, the royal cargo ship happened to have the Ikrosian Prince and a full legion of soldiers aboard, hidden in the hold. After the lengthy battle at sea, 'The Osprey" was sunk, and all the pirates aboard were in custody. A day before making port, the Royal ship was attacked by a great sea monster, and during the battle, damage to the ship broke open Rillik's cell. While his crew jumped ship, Rillik saw Prince Garadaine and his soldiers struggling to fight the monster, and out of either stupidity or bravery, jumped atop the creature and jabbed his sword deep into it's skull. Rillik, now hopelessly outnumbered, once again surrendered himself to the Ikrosian forces. However, the Prince was impressed at the Corsair's fighting ability and honor, and spoke for him at his trial. Though he was found guilty, Prince Garadaine, against his father's wishes, enlisted the pirate into the Ikrosian army as his sentence, and invited Rillik to join his party, and they have been traveling together ever since. Character: Rillik is a very brash and wild spirit. His ability to fight is matched only by his ability to get into trouble. One of his favorite past times is hitting on barmaids and serving girls, though he rarely ever succeeds in going anywhere with them. Though he was once a pirate, Rillik does show a surprisingly strong distaste for senseless violence, and total reverence for the sanctity of human life. To all who know him, he is truly an enigma. However, he has proven himself countless times on the field of battle, and at least in Prince Garadaine's small party, is respected and trusted in all things. |

Name: MasarkRace: Human Age: ? Height: 5'8" Rank: Seer Choice Weapon: Words, Wit, and Wizardry Background: Masark is the last to join Prince Garadaine's party, meeting the other five in the twilight hours of a balmy summer Ikrosian night. The five adventurers had just sat down in a tavern in a small hamlet in the southern regions when the cloaked and mysterious man approached them. Masark did not say much, just that he wanted to join the Prince in his journeys. Prince Garadaine was intrigued, but wanted proof of how useful the man would be to them. Masark said a small sentence, and then disappeared. "The prize resides behind the water, but beware the cyclops and the pitfall" was all the man said. The next morning, the village found itself under attack by an angry female dragon, frantically searching for her stolen egg. The inn keeper told the party of a man that had bragged the night before of finding an unhatched dragon's egg, and how much money he would make from it. On a whim, Rillik lead the party to a waterfall of which he knew a mile away. Behind the waterfall in a hidden cave was the stolen egg, and the man who had took it. The one eyed thief jumped out from the darkness and almost slit the Prince's throat, had Prince Garadaine not accidentally fallen backwards into a pit trap near the entrance to the cave. After Cassrien calmed the dragon and gave her back the egg, the party found Masark outside the tavern they had been at the night before, sitting in a chair and smoking his pipe. Though Prince Garadaine had his reservations about the mysterious man, he welcomed him to the group. Character: Masark is a very gifted and powerful seer. His abilities to tell the not so distant future has been very useful to the party many a time, and like Cassrien, he can also sense nearby evil and magical entities. Masark does not fight, however, and fancies himself a pacifist. That is not to say he is useless in battle, as his defensive magic is second to none. Masark is also an excellent story teller, and usually is a source of entertainment for the group in slow times. |
