About the Author
Anthony J. Sava III was born on a hot summer night in the late seventies. Ever since he was a child, he had a love for dragons,
knights, and chivalry. His introduction to the LEGO castle line helped
that love blossom into the world now known as Ikros.
Anthony graduated with a MIS degree from Texas A&M
University, and is currently the webmaster of Studio Sava. He lives
on the Gulf Coast of Texas, where he is married to the love of his life, Christina.
Throughout college, Anthony worked on Ikros, first as
a small novella, writing only a few chapters. Then, after rediscovering
his childhood LEGO collection, he began illustrating his story. The
few chapters became many, until all forty chapters of the Chronicles of
Ikros were complete. With the beginning of a new story, Ikros:
Chaos Skies, who knows how far it will go.
Anthony draws his inspiration from many different sources: books, movies, life experiences, but it is his family and friends
that keep him going. As he always says: "Ikros could never have gotten
as far as it has if it weren't for the people who read my stories. The
fans are what keep this thing alive, and my family are my biggest fans."
As for all that LEGO, well: "I get a lot of questions
about the size of my collection, and about my free time. I don't have
a lot of either, to tell the truth. As for an actual size to my collection,
well, I'd have to guess I have around 50,000 pieces. That may seem
like a lot, but compared to some of the other guys out there, it's nothing."
Another question many people ask him is 'Why?' Why
make Ikros, why spend your time with all that LEGO, can't you spend time
doing something else, something more productive? "Sure, I could spend
my time doing other things, there are a lot of different hobbies out there.
But you know, there are a lot of other things out there to do that
are a lot worse. At least building with LEGO and writing stories doesn't
hurt anyone. And besides, how many other people can say they're only
grown up when they're not at home?"
Will he ever produce the Kingdom of Ikros into a book?
"A book? Yeah, I've thought about it a great deal. In fact,
I've started re-writing the Chronicles to be in a more book-ish form. I
don't know if I'll ever get it done, or if I do if I'll ever send it into
a publishing house. If I ever get an offer, though, I'll be sure to
take them up on it."
