The Triark Dragoons

The Triark Dragoons - a brief history
Long ago the religous group known as the Triark thrived all over most of what is Ikros, Valk and Karkos.  Their religion surrounding the worship of dragons began to include the use of magical artifacts and weaponry, giving them the speed and dexterity more than that of normal man.  It was not long after that an elite group of warriors were formed out of the strongest of the Triark ranks.  Known as dragoons, these dragon knights became a powerful force known throughout Kahlan.  However, this power was also quite frightening to all those who saw it, hordes of men able to move twice as fast as any other, almost incapable of taking blows from their enemies.  The Paladins of Karkos took it upon themselves to stop the Triark Dragoons before they became any more powerful, and thus began a campaign to rid the world of them.  Though the paladins could not move as fast as the dragoons, and did not take down many of them, the paladins' healing ability gave them incredibly low number of casualties, and eventually broke the Triark defenses.  To remain alive, the Triark broke up, spreading all over Kahlan.
Today, Triark Dragoons are loners.  They travel alone, or sometimes, though very rare, in pairs.  They travel the world on their own course, practicing their ancient religion in solitude.  They are an enigma, a society totally seperated by thousands of miles and yet they continue to remain a close knit group.  Almost all dragoons seem to know each other.  It is almost a certainty that a Triark leadership still exists, perhaps in some gathering place unknown to all but the dragoons.  It has been said that one who wishes to become a dragoon must first find another and learn the secrets from them, but all those who do become dragoons will not reveal the secret.  There is an unspoken hatred for the Order of Huldrain among the Triark.  Any paladin within eyesight is almost always immediately attacked outside city walls where local laws aren't strong.
A Triark Dragoon can be recognized by several tell tale rainments.  Upon their shield is always found a likeness of a dragon, as is on the plume atop their helm.  On the sides of their helm is afixed small dragon-like wings, usually made of steel and silk.  It has been said that Daravon based his Dragon Crest Knights after the Triark Dragoons.  It is an even greater rumor that Daravon himself is or was once a dragoon himself, as he wears most of the rainments of the Triark.

Name:  Drakon the Whirlwind
Age:  ?
Height:  6'1"
Choice Weapon:  Sword of the Wind
Background:  Little is known of Drakon, much like all Triark Dragoons.  However, his life has been spent in the public eye more so than most.  It has been said that he helped repel the massive forces of Ethelred that tried to destroy the now crippled country of Conalia.  He is also a rare dragoon to see, as he travels with two others who seem to obey his comands.
Character:  Drakon's skills as a dragoon are great, even among his peers.  He gained the nickname Whirlwind due to his unnaturally fast attacking speed, fast even for a dragoon.  Unlike most dragoons, he wields a sword rather than a pike or halberd, but his speed makes up for the lost distance attacks.

Name:  Gremalion the Juggernaut
Age:  ?
Height:  6'5"
Choice Weapon:  Halberd of the Wind
Background:  Other than the fact that he follows the orders of Drakon the Whirlwind and travels at his side, nothing is known about this man.  He is soft spoken and withdrawn, but seems to revel in the chance to battle.
Character:  It is unknown why Gremalion is the way he is, some say it is because he failed to become a full, true dragoon.  In any event, his powers are not under question.  He is known as the Juggernaut do to his lack of dragoon speed and inhuman strength.  Though slower than normal dragoons, he is still quick for a normal man.  His strength has been likened to a muldruck, it has been said he can pierce steel armor with his bare fist.

Name:  Tealn the Thunderstorm
Age:  ?
Height:  5'10"
Choice Weapon:  Halberd of the Wind
Background:  Like most dragoons, little is known about Tealn.  He spends many nights in bars, watching people as he nurses his drink.  He seems to enjoy watching bar fights progress, but enjoys participating even more.
Character:  Other than the oddity that he travels with two other dragoons, Tealn is a model Triark.  Reserved, quick whitted, Tealn is a good fighter.  His magical armor gives him the ability to channel electricity through his weapon onto his oppenents, giving him a decisive edge against those in metal armor.
