BouwSpecies:  Bouw Home Region:  Forests and cities of Kahlan Life Span:  30 - 60 years Description:  These humanoid bear-like mammals are highlyintellegent, and can learn human speech.  Like their human counterparts,Bouw have been known to travel with merchants as mercenaries to protectthem or to work on odd tasks.  Bouw are pure carnivores however, andmost will induldge their animal nature when fresh meat is present.

Description:  Like most squids, the Giant Forest Squiduses its tenticles to capture its prey and eat it with its massive beak. However, this squid survives out of water and can actually float in midair, probably due to some telekinetic ability.  They are incrediblyrare, only two have ever been seen.

SpidersSpecies:  Spiders and Ice Spiders Home Region:  Forests of Kahlan Life Span:  1-5 years Description:  The spiders of Kahlan can create vast websof fiber stronger than steel.  Their venom is not very potent, butescaping their nets is near to impossible.  Ice Spiders are namedso for their color and their paralyzing venom.  Once bitten, the victimwill be completely paralyzed within minutes, allowing the spider to eatleisurely.
