Garalt and Greylen waved to their comrades and then
slowly made their way to the ocean's waves. Though he was wearing
boots, Garalt could feel the coolness of the water through the leather.
A gentle breeze blew over them, and Garalt slowly breathed in the salty
air.
"Please hurry, Garalt!" Alyia shouted from a distance
with a smile, "I don't think I can stand all these snide comments for long!
They're all ganging up on me!" Garalt smiled back and nodded.
"Your friend is having a bad influence on our dragon,
Greylen," Garalt said, looking over his shoulder at the mage.
"Demonclaw is a bad influence on everyone," Greylen smiled.
"So how far out do we need to go?"
"We need to get out as far as we can. The magic
will fade quickly if exposed to too much air. It IS an underwater
spell, after all. Then again..."
"Then again what?" Garalt asked quickly.
"Well, this is a new spell for me, so I don't know how
it'll work. I got it out of one of the books in that mage school"
"Wonderful..." Garalt shook his head.

The two made it out into the water till it reached their
belts. Any further and they would have had a hard time standing up
due to the waves.
"All right, " Greylen said, holding up his staff and
scepter.
"Good luck," Garalt said with a fake smile.
"To the both of us," Greylen teased. Garalt swallowed
hard.
Greylen began to chant softly, and as he did so, Garalt
could feel the ground at this feet begin to change, and then rise.
"Powers of the air, bow to my will, push back the seas
and give us passage! CERULEAN SPHERE!" Greylen called out.
The ground had seemed to become much more solid than
the sandy bottom of the ocean. Soon the water at their feet began
to flow away from them as a soft blue haze encircled them. It slowly
began to rise up out of the water, forming a half sphere around them, and
continued over their heads. Garalt soon found himself in what he could
only describe as a bubble.
"Amazing," Garalt said, looking about him. Greylen
just smiled and began to guide the magical sphere down beneath the waves.
Garalt was astonished at all that he saw, the living ocean revealed
to him. The sphere seemed to be giving off it's own light, illuminating
all that they came near, and giving Garalt a better view at it all.
It took the two a short while to reach the edge of the
ocean cliff where they thought the cave entrance would be. Garalt
smiled to himself as he saw schools of fish of every description swim around
and past them. As they made their way down deeper and deeper, the light
around them began to dissipate more and more, until everything was surrounded
by a dark blue haze.
"Will we run out of air in here?" Garalt said, realizing
he should have asked the question while they were still on land.
"Goodness I hope not," Greylen said, looking about him.
"Look there!" Garalt said, pointing
at a large, black opening in the sea wall.
"I think we found it!" Greylen said happily.
Garalt looked about the opening of the cave as the bubble
slowly moved inside. It's walls were gnarled and covered with sea
life, but it was certainly big enough for something the size of the great
red dragon to fit through. He only hoped that the blue dragon wasn't
any bigger than her younger brother, or else they'd have to spend more time
looking. After all, how common would a huge under water cave of this
size be?
