War's End
an illustrated tale
page 2
Familiar to the crowd, as well as the early favorite for
the tournament, was Sir Kullvox of Ikros. His years of training and
endless wisdom instilled great confidence in the crowd that he would take
the prize. Kullvox quickly rode back to his squire and chose a new
lance. Shaking off the strong hit he had just received, Kullvox then
looked over to his opponent on the other side of the arena.
The Prince lifted his lance high in the air, signaling
to Kullvox to make ready. The Prince was an unknown to the crowd, but
his early victories had quickly brought people to cheer him on. Sir
Hillsbrad and the newly knighted Sir Golan had even become fans of the knight,
cheering him on from his side of the field. The two knights again kicked
their heels into the sides of their horses and begun their charge down the
area. Lances in hand, aiming for the other, time seemed to stand still
as the two rode off at each other.
Once again the shattering sound of lances hitting shields
broke into the crowd noises. The two knights had once more hit each
other square and true, landing their blows with great accuracy. The
crowd roared at the spectacle, and the crowd even began to battle each other,
arguing over who would win this tournament.
