Hidden from Time
an illustrated tale
page 1

Given their new goal to research a spell to put the evil Tel'Karak Zrahl back in her eternal sleep, the group, now eight strong, began their journey to the Venorian Forest.  It was there that Garalt first encountered the Elves of Kahlan, and it was the only place any of the 8 knew where to look.  It wasn't very far to the forest from Mala's cottage, so by the end of the day they had reached the outskirts.
Drakon insisted that the group go farther into the forest before they bedded down for the evening, for every moment he feared the evil dark dragon would be upon them.  Garalt began to notice strange carvings in certain trees in the forest, Alyia recognized them as being of Elven design.  Garalt smiled and began to follow the trees with the carvings.  The farther they went into the forest, the closer together the symbols became, whatever they were following, they were getting closer.
Within moments they found themselves at the side of a large, rocky hill.  But part of the hill was oddly uniform, almost man made.  It was Tundrock who recognized it first.
"Lads, look!  It's a ship!" Tundrock said excitedly, pointing to what did look like a wooden hull.
"A ship in the middle of the forest?" Drakon cocked his head and looked the whole thing over.
"Only one way to find out," Garalt said, and began climbing some boulders to get a better view of the structure.
