A
Soldier Reborn
an illustrated tale
page 2
As the group of now seven walked from the borders
of Karkos, Garalt began to feel great sorrow for his comrade, Garn.
Now, for the second time in his life, Garn had been forced away from the
Order of Huldrain that he loved so much. Garn, however, didn't show
any emotion about the situation. He was always very good at holding
things inside himself.
"So, Garalt, now that I seem to be traveling with
you once more, where are we headed?"
"We're going to the healer Mala's cottage."
"Why go there again, Garalt?" Alyia asked.
"She said I may not be prepared for what I would
find at my parent's house. I suspect she knows more about my situation
that I do, and I would bet she knows what my birth parents went off to
do after they gave me to the people I called mother and father."
It took a few weeks to travel from Karkos to Mala's
cottage. Wherever they bedded down for the knight, Garalt trained
with Garn and Tundrock, mastering his skills of healing and speed.
By the time they reached Mala's cabin, both Garn and Tundrock were convinced
they could do nothing more to train Garalt further. He would have
to train with much more skilled individuals if he were to get any better..
