"Blast!" Garn shouted.
"Damned dragon," Tundrock added.
"It's all right," Demonclaw said, walking over to
Greylen, "I know how hard it is for you to aim your big spells."
Greylen let out a heavy sigh.
"Greylen, please, come up here," Garalt commanded,
helping Greylen atop the forecastle.
"Garalt?" Alyia said unsure.
"Greylen, you and Alyia are the only people who
can do anything about that dragon," Garalt addressed the two.
"I guess so," Greylen said slowly.
"Is what Demonclaw says true? Is it hard to
aim your powerful spells Greylen?"
"Yes..." Greylen hung his head.
"Alyia," Garalt turned to the princess.
"Yes?"
"Could you hit the dragon with an arrow?"
"Of course, this distance, that'd be easy."
Garalt looked over at Greylen, but didn't have to
speak a word. Greylen knew exactly what Garalt was thinking, and
it wasn't long before Alyia caught on too.
"This spell won't last long..." Greylen said, waving
his wand over one of Alyia's arrows.
"I won't need too long," Alyia said smiling, "just
tell me what I have to do different." Greylen smiled.
"Nothing at all, just shoot as normal," Greylen
said. The arrow was beginning to glow bright red, and Alyia couldn't
help but stare at it.
"What does it do?" Garalt asked, looking at the
mage.
"The spell makes the arrow explode violently upon
impact with anything," Greylen smiled.
"Oooh..." Alyia said happily, turning to look at
the dragon.
